Dear Jason,
I wanted to tell you how much my son appreciated the teddy bear you donated to Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego. He is 7 and was admitted first to the ER, then to the hospital for a week earlier this month. All is well now with his health, but I don't know what we would have done without the teddy bear. He brought it with him to every test (MRI, CT scan, etc.) and it truly made all those tests (dare I say it ) - "bearable" for him.
Your kindness is very much appreciated.
Thanks again!
Jennifer WG

The Bears Were Back in Town !

2010 is going to be a Very Beary Christmas for kids at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, California.

Last year with the help of dozens and dozens of people from around the world, I raised $5,130 and donated 1800 teddy bears to Rady Children's Hospital. My goal this year is to top that.

Can we do it? YES WE CAN!

There are several ways to help:

1.  Make a monetary donation to Pencil Bugs. 100% of your donation will be used to buy teddy bears.

2.  Make a monetary donation directly to Rady Children's Hospital. The money will be used in various ways to benefit the children.

3.  Buy an autographed copy of my new book, "Bitten by the Business Bug" or any of my other products and a portion of the proceeds will buy more bears. Throughout the year, I also use my money to buy toys, games, books, etc. for the kids at Rady Children's Hospital.

Please look through my past donation projects.  I know it is hard to think about Christmas already but every little bit helps and can make a difference in someone's life.  Last year, I received donations from $5 to $500, from kids in Alaska to military guys in Iraq and Japan.  If you feel inspired to contribute, thank you for your generosity.  Every dollar matters.

With any donation amount up to $25:

UPDATE!

The 2010 Teddy Bear Drive has come and gone.  Thanks to the help and generous support from a lot of people, we raised enough money to buy 500 teddy bears for kids at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, CA this Christmas.  Although we didn't reach last year's number, every donation is very much appreciated. It is amazing to hear how much one small teddy bear can mean to a child in the hospital.  Thank you to all who supported this effort. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

On December 18, we delivered the bears to the hospital. Thanks to our local Enterprise Rent-A-Car , who gave us a good discount on a van for our delivery.

Donations closed for this year - thank you.  I hope you will consider donating to my
2011 Teddy Bear Fundraiser.
