If you were one of the lucky ones who already owned a Pencil Bug , congratulations! You know they are great little pals and help make homework, drawing, grading papers or even doing office work just a little more fun.

If you are just learning about Pencil Bugs now or have known about them for awhile but just never got around to getting some for yourself, I am so sorry because they are now extinct.

Each came on the top of a #2 pencil with a Certificate of Authenticity which included their given name and care and training instructions. Of course, you were always free to give them a special name if you wished.

Pencil Bugs knew three tricks: sit, stand, and stay. Some of you might wonder if they were permanently stuck on the pencil. The answer is "No." Pencil Bugs knew when to jump off your pencil so you could still use your eraser. They also sat nicely on crayons, pens, or even markers. They were not only fun to use, but good for the imagination too. Some creative people used them as finger puppets, or just collected all eight colors so their pencils were never lonely. Pencil Bugs were always cute, fun, and even a little boingy. All of them seemed to have a personality all their own. These were definitely not your ordinary pencil toppers.
